On Tuesday August 4, 2015, neighborhoods throughout Sacramento joined forces with communities nationwide for the 32nd annual National Night Out crime/drug prevention event. From 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Heritage Park Owners Association residents throughout the 965 unit community locked their doors, turned on their outside lights and spent the evening with their neighbors.
Over 37.8 million neighbors across 16,124 communities celebrated National Night Out in 2014. National Night Out is a cohesive effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. In the September 2015 issue of the Heritage Park Herald, resident, John Parinello said stated that Heritage Park has long taken a strong stance against crime and sent a message to any-would-be criminal, "Not in Heritage Park you don't."
This year Heritage Park celebrated its 11th community-wide National Night Out at seven different neighborhood parks. the entire community celebrated with one another. Live music, dancing, fun and fellowship was had by all.
In addition to the Association's Board of Directors being in attendance, city officials, police and Eugene Burger Management Corporation (EBMC) Raymond Sohl, General Manager, Lori Burger, Senior Vice President and Carra Clampitt, Vice President were also in attendance.
