Can I still be approved with bad credit or an eviction on my credit?

Your credit score may play a major role in your ability to rent an apartment. Some landlords might deny your rental application if you have bad credit even if you have a spotless rental history and a sizable salary. Others may only check to see if you have a previous eviction or other rental-related blemishes on your credit report.

It is definitely possible to be approved with less than a perfect credit history.

Rental applications could be denied for the following:

  • Eviction filings within the past 36 months;

  • Civil judgments for rental housing within the last 84 months; and

  • Rental industry-related collections.

A complete analysis of the credit report will be done to determine if further consideration is applicable.

If your application is declined, we will issue a letter that will allow the household to contact the credit reporting agency to understand why a declined decision was reached.
